Terms & Conditions
Effective October 9, 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Aftercam. These terms govern your use of our Service and form a legally binding agreement between you and Aftercam.
1. Acceptance of terms
Aftercam is operated by an independent developer based in California, USA ("Aftercam", "we", "us"), the seller shown on Aftercam's App Store listing. By accessing or using Aftercam ("the Service"), including the Aftercam app for iPhone, its App Clip and our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to everyone who uses the Service, including hosts who create events and guests who join them, and joining an event means you accept them. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Aftercam is offered in the United States.
2. Description of service
Aftercam is a private event camera. Hosts create and run events in the Aftercam app for iPhone and share an invitation as a QR code or link. Guests take photos on an iPhone, in the App Clip or the app, and can add photos from their photo library when the host allows it. Photos stay hidden from guests until the event's gallery reveals on the schedule the host set. After the reveal, people with access to the gallery can view and download its photos in the app or in a web browser. Taking photos requires a supported iPhone. Our website does not offer photo capture, event management or purchases.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Aftercam. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you, including before you host an event or make a purchase. Aftercam reserves the right to end access for users who do not meet these requirements.
4. User accounts
Hosts need an Aftercam account, created in the app with Sign in with Apple or with a sign-in link sent to your email address. Guests do not need an account to join from the App Clip; guests who are signed in to the app join with their account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your email account and Apple Account secure.
5. User content
You retain ownership of the photos and other content you add to Aftercam. By adding content, you grant Aftercam a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, copy, display and transmit it to provide the Service, including applying the event's film look, creating its memory reel, showing it to the event's host and to the people with access to its revealed gallery, and letting them download it. The license also covers what we need to do to enforce these terms and comply with the law. We do not use your content for advertising or to train AI models. The license ends when your content is removed from the Service, except for copies that people have already downloaded or shared, copies in backups until they age out, and copies we must keep for a legal reason, as our Privacy Policy explains. Hosts decide who receives an event's invitation and who can open its revealed gallery. Anyone with access to a revealed gallery can view and download its photos, and a forwarded gallery link gives access too. Before sharing a photo beyond the event, consider the people in it and respect their wishes.
6. People in your photos
Photograph people respectfully. Only take or add photos of people who are comfortable being photographed, never in private places such as bathrooms or changing rooms, and never of someone who has asked you not to. Hosts are responsible for letting guests know that their event has a shared camera, and for the consent of the people photographed at it, including a parent's consent for children where the law requires it. If you appear in a photo on Aftercam and want it removed, email support@aftercam.app with the event and a description of the photo, whether or not you use Aftercam.
7. Prohibited content and conduct
Aftercam has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, obscene, hateful, harassing, defamatory, threatening, or that infringes on the rights of others, and you may not use Aftercam to harass, intimidate or exploit anyone. Only upload photos you have the right to share. Hosts can review and remove photos from their event in the app, and remove a guest from it. To report a photo, open it in the app and choose Report photo. To report anything else, email support@aftercam.app with the event and what you are reporting. We review reports promptly. We may remove content, and restrict or end the access of anyone who violates these terms, to an event, an account or the Service. We report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
8. Intimate images shared without consent
If an intimate image of you was shared on Aftercam without your consent, you can ask us to remove it, whether or not you use Aftercam. In the app, open the photo, choose Report photo, then Intimate image shared without consent. Or email support@aftercam.app with information that lets us find the image, such as the event link and a description of the photo; a statement that you are the person shown, or are authorized to act for them, and that the image was shared without consent; your name and a way to contact you; and your physical or electronic signature, such as your typed name. We remove the image, and any identical copies we know of on Aftercam, within 48 hours of receiving a valid request.
9. Payment and pricing
Small events are free. Larger events are a one-time in-app purchase made through Apple's App Store when you create the event, and you see the guest capacity and price in the app before you buy. Where the app offers more guest capacity for an existing event, that is also a one-time purchase. Apple processes these payments under its own terms, in the currency the App Store shows. Purchases are not subscriptions. The price is for the event and does not depend on how many photos are taken, kept or removed. When an event's capacity is full, guests who have already joined keep shooting, and new guests cannot join unless the host adds capacity.
10. Refunds
For events created under our low-use policy, you may request a full refund when the event has received 10 or fewer photos, no later than 14 days after its scheduled end. If no end was set, the collection closing time applies. You can also cancel an unused event before it starts. We email eligible hosts after the roll closes with a refund link and deadline. Open that link, or Refunds in the app's Profile, and choose Request refund; you do not need to send receipts or count photos yourself. All successfully received photos count, including host, guest, test and deleted photos. A request ends collection; photos still on a device cannot be added afterwards. Your collected photos and original gallery retention stay available. A request covers each of the event's purchases that has not already been refunded, including guest capacity you added. Aftercam purchases are made through the App Store, so you complete the request with Apple for each purchase, and Apple decides eligibility, amount and timing. You can choose to share the event's usage and delivery status with Apple to support the request. Fewer attendees, unused guest capacity and price changes do not otherwise qualify for a refund. Deleting an event does not request a refund. Existing events keep their original refund terms. If a technical problem on our side prevented capture or reveal, contact us so we can put it right. These terms do not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Refunds11. Data retention
We keep an event's photos, memory reel and cover for the retention period that applies to the event when it is created. Before a revealed gallery is removed at the end of that period, we email the host with time to download the photos first. Events that are never finished are removed on their own: a draft after 14 days, and an event that was never paid for 30 days after its reveal date. When a host deletes an event, its photos, memory reel and cover are removed from our storage, as our Privacy Policy describes. If we ever stop offering Aftercam, we will email hosts at least 30 days before, so they can download their photos. Aftercam is not an archival service. Keep your own copies of photos that matter to you.
12. Ending your use of Aftercam
You can stop using Aftercam at any time, and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or end access to an event, an account or the Service if you violate these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the people who use Aftercam. The sections on user content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and disputes continue to apply after your access ends.
13. Disclaimers
Aftercam is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a photo will never fail to upload or be lost.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aftercam shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the year before the claim or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Aftercam against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs that arise from content you add, from your use of the Service in violation of these terms or the law, or from your violation of someone else's rights, including the rights of the people in your photos.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Before filing a claim, please email support@aftercam.app so we can try to resolve it informally.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time, and the date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. When we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email or in the app where practical. Continuing to use Aftercam after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
18. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Aftercam about the Service. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, that is not a waiver of it.
19. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms and Conditions, contact us at support@aftercam.app or through the contact form on our website.
